Today’s blog photo is of construction site at the Grand Rapids International Airport.
I’ve gone back and forth between San Francisco and Grand Rapids more times than I can count. That airport has changed a lot over the years.
I took this photo so I can have an in-progress snapshot of what it looked like before the new building(s) are finished.
I don’t know when I’ll be back to Michigan. I usually go back in March, June, then most of November and December, for as long as I can. But I just don’t know lately, for a variety of reasons. So, I’m not sure the next time I’ll get to check progress on the airport.
As human beings, we’re always under construction in some way. Lately, I’ve not been satisfied with my “progress.” Can you believe it’s already almost June? This year I’ve been conscious of every second of the year. All my goals, to-do lists, that I printed and taped on the wall… I did OK, but it’s not perfect.
Part of unburying myself at this stage of life has been driving a conscious effort to stop and smell the roses. I found that taking in the smells of an area, breathing deeply, and maybe getting a drink of water have helped me stay grounded to what matters.
I use the following words too much: Feel, Wish, Think, Hope, Believe, Trust, Want.
Here are words I could do with more of: Satiated, Sweat, Finished, Consistent.
Here are some things I am proud of:
Completed an interview with singer-songwriter Derek Webb today, about his album Survival Songs. The post should be up tomorrow.
Continuing to publish to this site, and write every day!
Making great progress in a few other related projects.
Happy with some of my singing lately, esp. coming off being sick.
I haven’t been playing League of Legends! I am done for a while. I am back into Mortal Kombat lately, and using my PC instead of my laptop.
By the end of this year, I will have:
Completed a 5k and a 10k
Pitched some stories to different outlets or interview subjects
Did the best I could at work, learned a lot, and got promoted
Really let go of a lot of things that needed releasing (hence the purpose of this blog, Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye
I’m trying to stay with you as long as I can.
Thanks for reading!
